Tablet PC’s

The Future is Here:

Tablet PC’s

With technology rapidly getting smaller, more powerful and at the same time more capable, it is no surprise that people are flocking to these new devices called Tablet PC’s.
High end Tablet PC’s released today are far faster and more powerful than a regular laptop from as little as a year or two ago. The major benefit of a Tablet is that they are super portable and can have a much larger screen than a phone yet a lot longer battery life than a regular laptop. The new Motion Computing CL900 Tablet has average battery life of 8+ hours. That’s 8+ hours of usable battery before the Tablet needs a charge!!

Motion Computing CL900 Tablet

This Tablet and many more run on Windows 7 Operating System which is the industry standard system for all new PC's and Laptops. They can also have up to 4GB of RAM (a lot) and some even have Quad Core Processors (very fast!).

To some people the idea of controlling everything through the Tablet’s touch-screen is not a very appealing idea because of the finger marks on the screen and because people are used to a computer mouse. Nearly all tablet on the market these days include a USB port and therefore the Tablet has full adaptability with nearly any USB mouse and keyboard available. They are also compatible with most wireless keyboard and mouse configurations.

Most of the high end Tablets released today also have the option to put a 3G Sim-Card in them to enable a completely dedicated broadband internet connection wherever there is mobile phone reception. These tablets can then be used any time you're away from the your computer for everything from checking your Exchange Mail Server Emails, to creating a VPN connection so you can access your home or office network.

If the tablet doesn't have an inbuilt 3G function there are still many options for getting the internet. Any Tablet built within the last year will have WIFI (Wireless connectivity) and many smartphones can act as a Wireless Hotspot. This means that the phone can share their internet connectivity with any other WIFI enabled device therefore giving the Tablet full access to the internet. Phones with this capability include:

  • Android 2.2 or higher
  • Iphone 4
  • Any Windows Phone
  • Blackberry OS 6.1+

Here at Just Logical our Technicians will be able to match any of your requirements to a suitable Tablet PC and allow you to be truly Wireless.
